  1. 1.To thrust out the lips, as in sullenness or displeasure; hence, to look sullen. Thou poutest upon thy fortune and thy love. Shak. 2 2 To protrude. "Pouting lips." Dryden.
  2. 2.A sullen protrusion of the lips; a fit of sullenness. "Jack's in the pouts." J. & H. Smith.
  3. 3.The European whiting pout or bib. Eel pout. (Zoöl.) See Eelpout. -- Horn pout, or Horned pout. (Zoöl.) See Bullhead (b).
