What does "laconical" mean?

Laconical: Laconian; characteristic of, or like, the Spartans; hence, stern or severe; cruel; unflinching. Concise means without irrelevant or superfluous matter; it is the opposite of diffuse. Laconic means concise with the additional quality of pithiness, sometimes of brusqueness.
