Embiotocoid: Belonging to, or resembling, the Embiotocidæ. -- n. One of a family of fishes (Embiotocidæ) abundant on the coast of California, remarkable for being viviparous; -- also called surf fishes and viviparous fishes. See Illust. in Append.
