What does "astrophysics" mean?

Astrophysics: The science treating of the physical characteristics of the stars and other heavenly bodies, their chemical constitution, light, heat, atmospheres, etc. Its observations are made with the spectroscope, bolometer, etc., usually in connection with the telescope.
